Our Cuisine

With your stay comes wholesome delicious home-cooked food, with our breads, canapés and soups proving most popular on those warm summer days. Our melt-in-your-mouth meals are lovingly made with home-grown and local ingredients, including our speciality, Glen Harry reared venison.

The day often starts with a light snack before heading out on your chosen morning activity. A full breakfast can then be enjoyed upon return or be taken on the trip to enjoy in the most beautiful viewing spots, by the river or on a high plateau. Lunch is determined according to the activities of the day, from a light salad by the pool, to a packed lunch out and about while exploring the many facets of the reserve.  Tea and cake are served in the afternoon, and are the ideal sustenance to ready oneself for an early evening game drive to see the wonders emerging from the bushes as the air cools.  The evening meal is a time to feast – enjoy game sourced straight from the reserve cooked traditionally on an open fire grill, sizzling away whilst one enjoys an early evening drink and canapés around the boma campfire regaling the experiences of the day.  One must not forget to also indulge in our renowned home-made bread and vegetables plucked straight from our on-site kitchen garden.
